I am a visual artist working in various media, which, I think, are more open for dialogue with the viewer - installation, object, photography, drawing, painting, video, sound, sculpture.

I was born, lived, graduated from Fine Art Academy (in Yerevan) and worked most of my life in Armenia. Since 2015 I have been mainly based in the UK.

In about 25 years of artist’s experience, I have participated in more than 50 exhibitions, art festivals and biennials in Armenia, Austria, Germany, France, Italy, Greece, Bulgaria, Iran, Russia, Georgia etc. My artworks were included in the Armenian Pavilion of the Venice Biennale in 2001. I was chosen as artist-in-residence (Vienna) by the international jury of Kulturkontakt Austria in 2010 and invited as artist-in-residence to Graz (Austria) in 2013.

As a curator, I aim to contribute to the development of better communication through art between post-soviet Armenia and other countries. I have organised and/or curated about 10 exhibitions, presenting local artists and artists from other countries in Armenia and exhibitions of Armenian artists in other countries.
The highlights of my curatorial work include 5th Gyumri International Biennial, 2006, Armenia; "Ambiguous Boundaries" 2011, Vienna, Austria.

I am co-founder of “Kobalt” artists’ NGO in 1998 and was the head of it 1998-2007; as well as was president of Gyumri Centre of Contemporary Art (NGO) 2005-2007.
